Drake & Kendrick Lamar: Rivals Face Off For Best Rap Album At Grammys

 

After spending a whole year trading disses, the two rappers will finally have a scoreboard to point to when the Grammys determine what the best rap album of the year was.

Either Drake or Kendrick Lamar are going to be able to back up all of their trash-talk when an official winner is declared in the rappers’ feud at the Grammy Awards on Jan. 26, with Kendrick’s Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City and Drake’s Nothing Was the Same up for Best Rap Album.

The two rappers are on top of the game right now, but winning the biggest award will definitely let either guy get a word in edgewise. And with all the disses they’ve been trading back and forth, you know they’ll be taking the face-off seriously.

However, it’s not exactly a lock that either guy will win. The category is stacked with a ton of other hip-hop heavy hitters – Kanye West‘s Yeezus, Jay Z‘s Magna Carta Holy Grail, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis‘ The Heist were all nominated for the award.

But if either guy does win, it’s going to feel sweet — they’ve each been saying they’re the best for months, and now they’ll have proof.
After Kendrick said he was the best rapper and called Drake (among many others) out on his verse on “Control,” Drizzy lashed out in response.  ”I don’t why they been lying but your s**t is not that inspiring,” Drake rapped on “The Language,” seemingly firing shots at Kendrick. “F**k any n***a that’s talkin’ that s**t just to get a reaction.”
Then during a cypher verse at the BET Awards on Oct. 3, it was Kendrick’s turn to respond. “I’m bulletproof,” he rapped, “your s**t never penetrates. Pin the tail on the donkey, boy you been a fake.”
